Death Nova and Heroes: I thought they fixed this? - Guild Wars Forums

Greetings,

I thought there was an update a while back where they fixed the heroes usage of this outside of combat. It seems like I play now, run into combat, and where is Olias and my meat shields? Oh, he's half the radar away, casting Death Nova.

Anyone else still having problem?

I still see it happening. Get ready to start aggro just to find Livia and minions out in left field. I think it MIGHT be happening less, but can't be sure.

It definitely still happens. I got so tired of this that I don't even carry Death Nova anymore. Stuff still dies just as well.

My designated MM hero cast it outside of battle too. I totally forgot that they should have fixed it. I just play normally, either waiting for him or just disabling it and enabling it back when we're close to enter combat. The second option is the one that I'm currently using, it really is annoying but I disable and enable Life on the other necro's bar so it doesn't matter to me that much.

Disable the skill when you don't want them to use it.

They use it less. She doesn't cast it while we're moving, or at least I hadn't noticed that. It's one of the first things she starts casting if I stop, though. I don't think it's a big problem (I'm not the Runrunrunkillkillkill!!! sort of player) but I can see how it would annoy people ^_^

Keep it disabled until you're fighting.

The point is, I don't want to bother disabling skills left and right.

Life doesn't bother me so much, but the DN thing is a pain. I usually get right up to aggro range on a mob, ping the target, then cast my chain. It is awfully annoying having to wait for my MM to show up, or else charge in without them. By the time the fiends show up, the battle is usually over.

So yeah, maybe I switch it over to something else.

you mean you expect the minions to fight or something. death nova ruins that. i keep them around for their sparkling wit.

Yeh i havent seen no noticable change, so i continue to disable it when running long distances to mobs. A pain the ass but still.

Yep still happening, I had to take it away from Olias again, because all he was doing was casting it and not making minions and lagging behind.
